Challenge 023: IN FOR A PENNY

The phrase "in for a penny, in four a pound" refers to giving oneself whole-heartedly toward a cause, or that half measures are either unwelcome or impossible. Sometimes this full dedication is willing -- making an impression, or simply that's their attitude -- but sometimes it's merely a matter of resignation... might as well! Could it be love at first sight? Letting it ride at the casino? Or maybe on the losing side of a fight but determined to go out with a bang! Write a story where about characters are deciding to (or doing!) something at full measure. BONUS GOAL: Misnomer If your submission contains a character getting the name of someone/something wrong, that entry will earn an extra point to be tallied during voting!
