Challenge 005: LONG SHOT

(noun.) a venture or guess that has only the slightest chance of succeeding or being accurate. Everyone's had those moments in life where the only course of action is one barely likely to succeed - working on a hope and a prayer, as it were! Maybe they're forced into the decision by outside forces, maybe they've simply got nothing left to lose, maybe they're just a daredevil risk-taker who enjoys the thrill of uncertainty. Any way you slice it, these thousand to one odds can pay off... or not. Write a story where someone has to make a long shot call, and how it plays out for them. This week's Bonus Goal courtesy of peaked! BONUS GOAL: "I should have told you a long time ago." If your submission contains this line of dialogue, that entry will earn an extra point to be tallied during voting!
