Challenge 064:
RAINY DAY

Rain is often thought of as a bad thing – the thing that ruins zoo trips, cancels outdoor picnics, or ends an army’s campaign (it’s hard to move troops across a field of solid mud, after all). There’s a reason the idiom “save it for a rainy day” means to save something for a bad day, after all.

On the other hand, sometimes a rainy day is exactly what someone needs. Rain can replenish the land after a drought, provide a convenient reason to not do something you didn’t want to do in the first place, or even just provide soothing natural white noise after a rough week.

Write a story about a rainy day.

BONUS GOAL: Don’t Rain On My Parade

If your story includes some kind of outdoor event, it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting!

Challenge ends Monday, August 31 at 9:00PM EST
