Challenge 127:
FOR SCIENCE!
Have you ever wanted to do something potentially dangerous, just to see what would happen? So have a lot of people – with frequently questionable results? Doing something “For Science!” often implies doing something dangerous, forbidden, morally or ethically dubious, or illegal, for no reason other than that it might contribute to scientific advancement, but it can just as easily be a joke about giving yourself a “reason” to do something like combining coffee and tea.

How do your characters feel about doing things For Science!? Do they jump in wholeheartedly, suggest it themselves, or try to talk down the resident mad scientist? Is it a joke they share with a partner or friend, or a concept that they have deep-rooted terrible experiences with?

Write a story about doing something “for science”.

BONUS GOAL: “Give me one good reason why I should let you buy a cart full of fireworks.”

If your submission includes this line (suggested by [personal profile] regrets_nothing), it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting!

Challenge ends Monday, February 28 at 9:00PM EST.
