Challenge 161:
HOMECOMING
There’s no place like home, they say, but that’s not always a bad thing. Coming home can mean safety, family, peace, or rest – or conflict, stress, or worse. Sometimes home is the goal at the end of a long journey, the reason for the quest, the reward for a battle won; other times, home is the thing your protagonist flees, the place they avoid unless forced to return.

How do your characters feel about home? Do they look forward to going home? Avoid it at all costs? Do they have a home to return to – or not – at all?

Write a story about a homecoming.

BONUS GOAL: Home for the Holidays

If your submission features holidays (fictional or real, in any capacity), it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting!

Challenge ends Monday, January 2 at 9:00PM EST.
