Challenge 294: PINING

to yearn intensely and persistently especially for something unattainable Maybe it’s for a long-lost friend or lover, someone you miss even after all this time. Maybe you’re in love with someone who doesn’t love you back, or can’t. Maybe you’ve been away from home for a long time, and you miss it. Whatever it is, you’re pining for it! What do your characters pine for, if anything? Does it work out for them, or is their pining destined to be futile? Write a story about pining. BONUS GOAL: Dawn’s First Light If your submission features sunrise, it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting!
