Following up from this post, since we only have two voting-eligible entries this week, we're going to skip the voting round and open it up for posting through Wednesday, June 9 at 9pm EST. There will be a roundup post and a new challenge at that point. Usual amnesty rules apply; feel free to post multiple prompt fills if you had more than one in mind or partially finished.

Challenge 096:
CENTER OF ATTENTION

Some people love being the center of attention. Whether it’s acting or singing, choosing a career that runs on public speaking, or just being the most dramatic, enthusiastic person in any given group, they thrive on the spotlight. They’re rarely afraid to speak up, and when their friends need to capture a crowd’s attention, they know who to call.

On the other hand, some people loathe being the center of attention. They’re uncomfortable with or downright frightened of having all eyes on them. They’ll support their friends from behind the scenes, whether that’s helping choreograph a performance or guarding their back during a speech, but being in the spotlight themselves is their worst nightmare.

Write a story about being the center of attention.

BONUS GOAL: “Break a leg!”

If your story includes this line, it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting!

Challenge ends Monday, June 7 at 9:00PM EST.
• Post submissions as new entries using the template in the profile
