Challenge 155:
VAMPIRES

Traditionally, vampires are undead creatures of the night that drink human blood, terrorizing the populace and turning innocents into new vampires along the way, the villains of the story to our heroic protagonists. But that’s just one interpretation of this horror-story staple! Sometimes the vampires are tragic allies, or even the protagonists themselves. Sometimes they’re aliens, elves, or some other species all their own instead of undead humans. Sometimes the “vampire” description is entirely metaphorical, used to refer to someone who doesn’t actually feed on other people but makes them feel like they’ve been drained dry after a few hours anyway. Or maybe they’re just adorable little vampire bats!

Maybe your characters are vampires, maybe they hunt them, maybe they’re friends with them, or maybe they just dress up as them for Halloween. Whatever the case, there’s a lot of stories you can tell about them!

Write a story about vampires.
