Even the most enthusiastic protagonists or scheming antagonists need a break sometimes. Political machinations, world-saving quests, intergalactic wars, and epic romances are all well and good, but sometimes you just need a few hours to relax. Whether it’s on a couch at home, by a campfire in a peaceful forest, or on a beach under the stars, a quiet night can be just what the doctor ordered.

What kind of quiet night would your characters like? Are they alone, or is someone else with them? Do they get them regularly, or is it a rare treat? Do they enjoy their quiet nights, or are they nervous that something will go wrong at any moment?

Write a story about a quiet night.
